Graduate Research

If you are interested in pursuing a masters in geology please send me an email! Let me know what you are interested in, what your background is (a CV), and maybe your goals for graduate school.

Undergraduate Research

If you are interested in undergraduate research opportunities then please come see me! As a structural geologist, I do not always have lab work available, but I do often have projects that you can work on. These projects are often designed to contribute to Capstone Experiences. If you are interested in completing a capstone with me, I need to know about a year in advance. This is because most of my projects require a lot of lead time to get going. This might be because of summer field work, acquisition of modeling or geophysical equipment, and/or collection of geochemical or geochronologic data. Capstone guidelines can be found here: https://www.marshall.edu/geology/capstone/

Letters of Reference

If you would like a letter of reference please sent me an email. This email should:

  • Ask me for a letter at least two weeks before the deadline
  • Have a complete list of the schools/programs you are applying to with their deadlines
  • Tell me how to submit letters
  • Include a CV
  • Include a unofficial transcript so I know what classes you have taken
  • Include text that convinces me that you are excited about what you are applying to, so that I can convince someone else. A cover letter (which is likely required for what you are applying for) is perfect for this.

If you do not hear back from me within 2 business days please send the email again. I will send you an email when I have sent the letters, but please send a reminder email a few days before the deadline if you have not heard from me.
