Prof. Dean Johnston of Otterbein College has a very nice web page<\/a> devoted to symmetry.  It has over 60 sample molecules in many different point groups to help you visualize the various symmetry elements.  You will need to install the Jmol plugin<\/a> in order to use this page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Timothy Hughbanks of Texas A&M also has an excellent group theory page<\/a>.  This has several handouts, some of which include details of the mathematics involved in this course.  It also provides handouts on topics beyond what we will visit in this course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reciprocalnet<\/a> is an organization dedicated to crystallography. I has structures of a large number of molecules (minerals & gems, biological & environmental molecules, etc.) that you can view.  At it’s website there is a section on group theory<\/a> that includes an online quiz that you might find helpful<\/p>\n\n\n\n
